The Events Industry Council offers so much more beyond the CMP.

The Events Industry Council is a wealth of resources for meeting planners, from certification programs to an events industry glossary of terms.

Many meeting planners only think of the Events Industry Council when they are getting their CMP certification. But the Washington, DC-based association—a non-profit federation of more than 30 U.S. and international organizations involved in the meetings, conventions and exhibitions industry—offers so much more:

Webinars

You’ll find archived webinars available on demand on topics ranging from Designing Accessible Events to Sustainable Food & Beverage.

Sustainability Resources

Because the Green Meeting Industry Council merged with the EIC in 2016, it now offers a wide variety of resources for planners looking to green their meetings, with white paper topics  ranging from Waste Management to how to Shrink Your Event’s Carbon Footprint.

Industry Glossary

The go-to resource for meeting industry terminology is the EIC’s Glossary, where you can search a term for a definition, or look up hundreds of terms alphabetically.

Events Industry Council Templates

Formerly known as the APEX Initiative, The Events Industry Council’s Industry Insights Committee is currently reviewing this extensive resource of tools and templates that cover every aspect of meetings, from housing to registration to transportation. They will be updated in 2019.

And of Course, the CMP

The EIC certifies individuals through an internationally recognized certification program that evaluates the competency of meeting professionals. More than 11,000 meeting professionals in 55 countries around the globe hold the CMP designation.
