VEEP experience

The Hamilton Hotel Washington, DC, is celebrating premiere week of the hit comedy series’ final season and a multimillion-dollar transformation to boot.

Hamilton Hotel and HBO unveiled an exclusive “VEEP” experience today that pays homage to the seven-season Emmy award-winning series in a fun and oh-so-Selina-Meyer way. It all begins on the 12th floor where notable cast photographs from multiple seasons adorn the hallway leading to a new one-bedroom Selina Meyer Presidential Suite. Once inside, guests enter President Meyers’ brownstone residence—decked out in original set furniture and props, including Meyers’ bar cabinet, a console table and a writing table—as well as memorabilia and home mementos.

The 12th floor of the 318-room art deco property also includes a replica of Meyers’ Oval Office, curated from collaboration with HBO’s set designers and prop masters. Here, original props such as the Presidential Resolute Desk, seal area rug, grandfather clock, an oversized portrait of Meyers and other recognizable photographs, art and objects immerse guests further into the world of “VEEP.”

Mark J. Driscoll, managing director at Hamilton Hotel Washington, DC, says the aesthetic takeover by “VEEP” is just the beginning. “As part of an extensive property transformation, the hotel is introducing unexpected experiences that guests will find only at Hamilton. Through our ‘VEEP’ suite, the show’s highly-engaged fans can continue to appreciate the incredibly popular show, and its beloved Selina Meyer, beyond the series finale.”

“With VEEP coming to a close this season we were looking at ways to celebrate Selina Meyer, and a presidential suite seemed like such a perfect way to salute her legacy,” added Yauny Wheaton, director of consumer marketing at HBO.

Hotel guests who book the suite will receive a complimentary copy of Selina Meyer’s autobiography, “A Woman First: First Woman,” a “revealing and personal memoir from one of our most beloved former presidents,” according to Hamilton Hotel, as well as a sheet of commemorative Selina Meyer presidential stamps.

The “VEEP” Suite can be booked for your meeting or event starting March 28.
