Meeting planning at the Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta All Inclusive & Spa hotel is more of an occasion. We recently spoke with Eduardo Pinto, group sales director for the property to find out why.

Prevue: Do you offer any team building activities that facilitate creativity amongst peers?


Pinto: At Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta All Inclusive & Spa, we offer the following teambuilding activities: Beach volleyball tournaments, olympics, beach soccer tournaments, yoga, tai chi and/or treasure hunts with one of our local DMC partners that foster teambuilding and creative approaches to problem solving—surcharge depending on activity.

Can you recommend any festivals that provide groups with an authentic local experience?

The Gastronomic Festival during the month of November and Puerto Vallarta’s “Our Lady of Guadalupe” parades during the first 12 days of December provide groups with an authentic Mexican destination experience. Lots of hotels, local businesses and schools participate with colorful floats in the parade and the parade has many followers through downtown.

How do your resorts integrate local traditions and customs?

We are a 100% Mexican company and our hotel boasts traditional Mexican architecture with a contemporary modern design.
The majority of the design work in our hotel is from local artists – Cantera quarry stone doorframes, marble floors and river stone rescued from the local rivers decorate our floors and other public areas of the hotel. We have tequila tasting, cooking classes and folkloric shows.

Are there any cultural venues that help planners maximize group ROE?

The Malecon in Downtown, “Muelle de los Muertos” in the Romantic Zone.

In what ways has your resort catered to right-brain (creative) planner requests in the past?

We’ve themed the hotel to a specific brand. This has included logos on towels, room keys and on the pool, special drinks and menus, and implementing company colors in the banquet area. We’ve also named our restaurants to reflect each product of the brand.
