The Auberge Collection’s Mauna Lani Resort on the island of Hawai, is one of the top new hotel openings in 2020.

The luxury hotel market just keeps it coming, with dozens of exciting new hotel openings in 2020.

We reached out to a number of sources to name the top 5 new hotel openings in 2020 for meeting planners. All are sure to create buzz for those attendees and incentive qualifiers who have “been there, done that.”

Mauna Lani, Auberge Collection

This newly renovated group favorite on the island of Hawaii is now part of the Auberge Collection. Attendees can immerse themselves in the indigenous culture with numerous excursions and dine on locally sourced seafood. There’s even a Hale‘I’ike (“House of Knowledge”) cultural center. And yes, the legendary bungalows are still there, with private access to the beach and their own private swimming pools.

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas

This new addition to the U.S.’s most popular meeting city made Forbes’ annual list of 2020 openings. Once the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino closes in February, the space will be re-envisioned with 1,500 rooms, 60,000 sf of gaming and 130,000 sf of remodeled meeting, space. The new Virgin Hotel that emerges next fall will be a member of Hilton’s Curio Collection.

Nobu Hotel Chicago

This long-awaited 115-room Nobu outpost will open in early 2020 in Chicago’s West Loop, featuring the brand’s beautiful blend of modern design and classic Japanese touches. And of course, there will be a signature Nobu restaurant, as well as a rooftop venue for corporate events and more than 3,000 sf of meeting space.

Margaritaville New York

Margaritaville Resort New York

A Margaritaville in the Big Apple? That’s right! Opening in late 2020, the 234-room resort in the Times Square area will have all of Margaritaville’s standard features, from the Flow Rider surfing machine to the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar, as well as a rooftop pool and meeting space, size TBD.

Otis Hotel Austin

Otis Hotel Austin

Marriott will bring together two of its brands in one of the hottest meeting cities in the U.S.: the 191-room Otis Hotel and the 156-room AC Hotel Austin. Each has its own flavor, with the upscale Otis being part of the Autograph Collection and the AC geared toward a younger clientele, right down to the media salon and record players in the rooms. There will be 7,100 sf of meeting space when the dual-branded property opens early next year.
