Miromar Design Center in Estero: a treasure trove of home furnishings and accessories and an elegant event venue, too

A recent visit introduced 4 creative event venues on Florida’s West Coast that will have attendees abuzz.

It’s those charming, unexpected event venues that attendees remember—and a recent visit to Florida’s West Coast revealed 4 special spots for evening receptions.

Miromar Design Center

The design center is open to the public and features showrooms with luxury brands including Ralph Lauren Home, Poggenpohl, Jardin de Ville and many more. Fabulous curated artwork can be found hanging throughout and a must-see is the 600-piece private collection, “Ancient Chinese Secrets,” featuring museum-quality ceramics, funerary urns, Buddhas and more, now through February 5. Its elegant atrium space can be taken over by a group for a dinner or reception for up to 235 people. Located in Estero, Fla.

Shangri-La Springs

Located in downtown Bonita Springs, this charming center for the arts and entertainment hosted an evening event during Florida Encounter that dazzled all. Part spa, part hotel, it has a central courtyard that seats 300, where programs can include live music, performance art and a chance to browse the artisan shop and leave with a local treasure.

Angelina’s Ristorante

An institution in the Bonita Springs area, Angelina’s features a semi-casual environment with the feeling of the Tuscan countryside, and simply the most fabulous Italian cuisine around. Three different spaces can be rented for groups, the largest of which seats 50, and the staff understands events and will cater to your every need.

Naples Zoo

The Naples Zoo is a hidden gem—intimate, friendly and rustic, with several areas where small groups can hold events. Opened in September 1969 in what were once the gardens for botanist Dr. Henry Nehrling’s collection of plants, it now includes a vast collection of residents, everything from giraffes and cheetahs to honey badgers and lemurs.
