Groups visiting Detroit can experience VIP luxury at the Townsend Hotel, which combines traditional English decor with flawless service.

The hotel’s sumptuous interiors feature marble fireplaces and crystal chandeliers, and its 150 rooms and suites offer marble bathrooms with deep-soaking tubs, custom Frette Italian-made duvets and luxurious spa amenities.

Groups can expect old-world elegance in the recently renovated 4,920-sf Townsend Ballroom, as well as refined activities such as afternoon tea. Harney & Sons loose-leaf teas are presented with finger sandwiches, orange cranberry scones with mascarpone cheese and homemade lemon curd, and a selection of miniature pastries. For fine dining, the hotel’s AAA Four-Diamond Rugby Grille is considered one of metro Detroit’s premier restaurants. Kelly Clement, senior sales manager for The Townsend, says their events team can also shake things up a bit.

“Tasked with suggesting a rejuvenating break activity during a lengthy conference, our catering manager coordinated a mid-meeting yoga session to bring energy and excitement to event attendees, followed by healthy, locally sourced snacks prior to resuming the conference.”
