3 Thai Team Building Experiences

Thai team building, ThailandWhen it comes to events in Thailand, even a conference in the capital city is seen as an experience that’s as sleek as a cocktail soiree.

“Thai creativity can be seen in turning a simple square meeting room into something different,” explains Nooch Homrossukhon, director of the meetings and incentives department for the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau. “Instead of doing a simple tabletop session, we can turn it into a social club to make it more engaging and invite conversation.” We experienced this firsthand in Bangkok with exchange sessions and team building and on the island of Koh Samui. Here are three of our favorite Thai team building experiences.

Tuk Tuk Tours

“Bangkok is such a lively city; you can enjoy the convenience of the city and the authenticity of the local flavor and hidden places,” Homrossukhon says. Despite the jetlag, our first day was an instant group bonding session. We set off on a scavenger hunt by tuk tuk or automatic rickshaw, snapping photos of monuments and street food in the Rattanakosin and Chinatown.

Quad Bike Tours

Groups ready for an adventure can explore the backcountry terrain of Koh Samui on four wheels with a guided quad tour through palm tree-lined beaches and mountainous rainforest. Creative team building company Asia Ability broke us up into smaller groups with the task of filming a mini documentary of the experience that was presented at the closing dinner.

Beach Cleanup

Thailand’s beaches are so beautiful they’ve served as backdrops for films like “The Beach.” Groups can combine CSR and team building with a morning beach cleanup session partnering with Trash Hero Koh Samui, which has collected over 28,000 pounds of trash on Koh Samui alone.
