Hard Rock Hotels & Cafes Kicks Off the 13th Annual PINKTOBER to Raise Breast Cancer Awareness

Hard Rock Hotels & Cafes always encourages groups to eat and meet well with an eye toward sustainability and social innovation. This month kicks off the 13th annual PINKTOBER event to bring awareness to breast cancer and charities that support the cause, with the popular girl band Bananarama acting as brand ambassadors.

The group will perform eight shows across the U.S. at various Hard Rock locations, performing hits like “Venus” and “Cruel Summer.” The girls will also interview breast cancer survivors to promote their stories. Throughout the month, every Hard Rock Hotel will donate 25% of room rates to charity, and guest rooms will be decorated with pink sheets, bathrobes and other pink décor.

Limited Edition PINKTOBER 2012 merchandise will be available at each location’s gift shop and the Hard Rock website. These items include the PINKTOBER 2012 t-shirt, bracelet, robe, pink sheets, bathrobes and the 2012 pin. For each pin sold, 75% retail price goes directly to the cause. For all other PINKTOBER products, 15% of the retail price will be donated directly.

For those in need of a quick bite before the Bananarama show, guests can enjoy a limited time PINKTOBER menu at Hard Rock Cafe properties. Enjoy non-alcoholic pink smoothies, pink beverages or even a Cookies ‘n’ Cream Hope Dessert—a gooey chocolate and ice cream treat. Fans also can also dance the night away to rising artists and classic tunes at the Fan-Fare PINKTOBER dance parties occurring throughout the month.

Other special PINKTOBER activities will take places at specific Hard Rock properties. For the grand opening of the Hard Rock Cancun, there will be a pink fashion show featuring PINK apparel with a rock star twist. Hard Rock Chicago has “PinkPong” tables in the hotel recreation area and Seminole Hard Rock Hotel Hollywood, Florida will have casino giveaways throughout the month, a bake sale and three live shows in memory of Hard Rock family members who have lost their battle with breast cancer. To kick off the month, the property will have pink fireworks, a fashion show featuring Hard Rock employees, food trucks and special offerings throughout the grounds.

Hard Rock has donated $2 million towards Breast Cancer charities since 2007. PINKTOBER 2012 will benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and The Caron Keating Foundation. Presently, there are 179 venues in 54 countries—all will be participating in this year’s PINKTOBER festivities.
