The juicing trend has made its way to the luxury hotel market, as Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants announced its new fresh juice menu in January. Now on-the-go meeting planners and attendees can rely on hotels to not only provide them with local, seasonal foods, but with the option of sticking to their juicing diet while on the road.

Kimpton is the first major U.S. hotel company to institute a juicing program brand-wide. The menu is currently available at 10 Kimpton properties and will continue to be rolled out at additional properties throughout the year.

Executive Chef Christian Graves from Jsix in San Diego created the available juice recipes made from freshly picked local fruits and vegetables. Those recipes include Being Green, made from cucumber, celery, spinach, kale and lemon; and Beets Me, a combination of red beets, carrots, ginger and cilantro. A Local Only juice, which each chef creates based on seasonal ingredients from their region, is also available to customers.

“We created the juicing program as part of our ongoing commitment to health and wellness, and in response to guest demand,” says Frank Kawecki, vice president of restaurants at Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. “We knew the juice craze has taken off and we’ve always been a health-conscious brand offering food options that meet the needs of our guests.”

The juices are available on the breakfast, lunch and pool menus at participating hotels. While the program is still in its initial phases, Kawecki says that the hotel brand sees an opportunity to offer juicing to groups staying at the hotels and for them to work with with Kimpton chefs in educational sessions about the healthful qualities of juicing.

“The juicing program is not yet available as a cooking class or educational session,” Kawecki says. “But we like the idea and see a lot of potential for additional opportunities where our guests can enjoy these healthy beverages. “

The juicing program builds upon the brand’s already popular customizable smoothie bars, which were launched last year for group banquets. Groups have the option to select from five fuel-infused smoothies and blends of antioxidant-rich dried fruits and nuts developed by Kimpton chefs. Additionally, they can customize the smoothie bars and trail mix stations based on each guests needs with a build-your-own concept.
