Marriott Caribbean & Latin America Resorts is at it again in offering group deals, and this time, the deal comes with a side of charity.
Several Marriott resorts throughout the Caribbean and Mexico are offering the “Carry-on Charity” deal for group travel. The participating property provides planners with needs lists from local charities. Planners work it into the event by encouraging attendees to pack items to donate, either in their individual suitcases or the resort will ship a customized Carry-on Charity duffle bag.
For groups that opt to participate, the resorts will provide $25 food and beverage vouchers and cover airline baggage fees in exchange for bags of donated items. If groups donate five bags or more, the property will even cover transportation costs for attendees to hand-deliver items to the charity—an ideal team building activity to work into an afternoon after a morning of meetings. It is the season of giving after all.
