Sneak Peek: Revel in Atlantic City

Atlantic City

You could say Atlantic City had it coming. Years of talk about AC’s redevelopment hasn’t yielded much results. That is until now.

Later this month the uber lux Revel will join the already popping Borgata Hotel, Casino and Spa and open its doors on a stretch of 20 acres along America’s first boardwalk. And we have a sneak peek.

The $2.4 billion, 47-story glass structure offers 130,000 sf of gaming, including 2,439 slot machines set against flamboyant decor by Cirque du Soleil designers. All of its 1,898 rooms and suites have Atlantic Ocean views. Aside from its vast casino, the resort has 10 swimming pools, a 32-room spa with a 3,000-square-foot coed bathhouse, a 5,500-seat theater for concerts and shows, a beach club, and a burlesque nightclub with nightly shows. Also, 14 dining venues offer a variety of cuisines, from a Belgian gastropub to Mediterranean fine dining.

Garden State bound meeting planners will delight in 160,000 sf of indoor and 90,000 sf of outdoor flexible meeting and event space purposefully built around one idea: make functional fun. These full-service venues were allegedly designed by event planners from the entertainment, association and corporate worlds.

So is AC ready to steal some of Vegas’ thunder? Possibly. Will the boardwalk outdo the strip?
