A NEW STAR IN SYDNEY
In September, The Star hotel, casino, dining and entertainment complex reopened on Sydney’s waterfront following $860 million redevelopment. There are no less than 20 new restaurants and lounges in a completely reconfigured promenade overlooking Sydney Harbour. The fine dining establishments are manned by star chefs such as David Chang, Stefano Manfredi and Melbourne’s top cook, Teage Ezard.
Part of the new launch, The Darling is a 171-room, chic luxury hotel with major designer mojo and floor-to-ceiling walls of windows scanning the water. For small group dining, SOKYO restaurant is helmed by Nobu alum, Chase Kojima. The spa meanwhile features 16 private rooms accompanied by a 25-meter outdoor pool with cabanas and a spa bar.
Group space is next door at The Star. In early 2012, planners will have access to a rooftop nightclub with outdoor space and gaga views.
