Banyan Tree Mayakoba in the Riviera Maya has debuted its new 10,358-sf indoor-outdoor event space MK Blue.
The new facility is part of the resort’s current $50 million expansion project, which also extends to new and renovated villas, suites and restaurants, as it marks its 10th anniversary this year.
MK Blue is situated next to the resort’s main entrance and features unobstructed views of the Mayakoba waterways and tropical forests. The space offers 7,885 sf of indoor function space, as well as a 2,500-sf outdoor terrace. It comfortably seats up to 550 guests and features state-of-the-art AV and production equipment.
“As the resort celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2019, we are proud to continue to expand the product offerings meanwhile enhancing the guest experience. In addition to several other significant upgrades throughout the property this year and next, we are thrilled to unveil the first new development as our popular MK Blue event space,” said Banyan Tree Mayakoba General Manager Peter Hechler in a press release statement. “We are confident this exciting new function space will not only meet the demands but surpass the expectations of our clientele and offer something truly unlike anything else in the Riviera Maya for unforgettable social gatherings.”
In addition to MK Blue, Banyan Tree Mayakoba offers 14 indoor and outdoor event venues, including two ballrooms and two break-out rooms. Group programming and team-building activities at the resort include Mayan-themed dinners, guided cooking classes with master chefs, or a round of golf on the world-famous El Camaleon golf course.
Additional perks such as early check-in, late check-out, complimentary Wi-Fi, and room upgrades are available when booking meeting packages such as “Meet for More” or “Meaningful Connection.”
