The 454-room Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa in Bonita Springs, Fla., is starting 2017 off fresh with updated meeting space and a new outdoor playground.
The property completed a $4.1 million meeting space renovation in early 2016 to the property’s 37,600 sf of indoor meeting space. That included updates to two ballrooms, two pre-function spaces, eight meeting rooms, one executive boardroom, one meeting planners’ office and two technology nooks that feature large-screen TVs, comfortable seating and multiple charging stations for attendees. The interior decor features a contemporary grey and white color palette with accents of light green and royal blue. White leather furnishings and sculptures in multicolor blown glass, white coral and ancient-style pottery round out the space.
Based on feedback from meeting planners, the property also incorporated technology features such as automated digital signage for every meeting room and four interactive touchscreen monitors that highlight scheduled meetings, resort amenities, local weather and even flight information at the local airport. Energy-saving features such as LED lighting, cove lighting, wall sconces and new chandeliers meld the resort’s energy goals with an emphasis on natural daylight in the meeting spaces. Combined with the resort’s outdoor space, the property offers a total of 85,000 sf of meeting space.
“An abundance of flexible outdoor event space sets the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort apart from the competition,” says David Gauthier, director of sales and marketing. “Groups can have their choice of quaint courtyards with fountains, dramatic open spaces with towering palm trees and lakeside grassy lawns.”
The property’s outdoor areas also received a major facelift with the addition of a $7.1 million waterpark in November. Between meetings, attendees can take turns zipping down one of the three, three-story water slides or relaxing on the lazy river. The addition joins the resort’s already popular Waterfall Pool in addition to the abundance of Florida wildlife for groups to explore at the resort.
“The resort is immersed in the tranquility of nature,” says Gauthier. “With gulf-front exposure and a nature walk through tidal mangroves, it’s common to see bald eagles, osprey, pelicans and flocks of migrating birds on the resort’s 26 acres. Raptor Bay Golf Club is the first Audubon-sanctioned club in the United States and one of only a few Florida golf courses without housing developments surrounding the fairways.”
