Loews Philadelphia Unveils New Meeting Space

Last month, Loews Philadelphia Hotel added more than 3,000 sf of meeting space, bringing the total function space to over 48,000 sf. The 581-room hotel is located in the Philadelphia Saving Fund Society building (PSFS), the first skyscraper in downtown Philadelphia. The $2 million expansion totals up to five rooms, each catering to smaller groups of 30 pax or less.

New spaces include the 800-sf PSFS Room on the 33rd floor, with panoramic city view. The 625-sf Library Boardroom is on the Club Lounge Level, featuring a warm and comfortable space for drinks or a light meal between sessions. The 625-sf Penn Room is a private meeting room full of natural light from the three floor-to-ceiling windows on the perimeter. The Mezzanine Room is an intimate space with 250 sf on a private floor. Finally, the Franklin Room includes 680-sf of meeting space and is located near larger meeting rooms on the conference level.

“As a result of the meeting industry’s need to accommodate the growing small meetings market, we have expanded our meeting space,” says Ed O’Boyle, director of marketing. “Our newly-created meeting rooms reflect the same superior quality for which our hotel is known, while simultaneously catering to an increasing segment that is in high demand for both meetings and catering events.”

The Loews Philadelphia Hotel is the perfect blend of American history and contemporary design. The art deco aesthetic carries through the guestrooms, with neutral furnishings and colorful accents. Each room including expansive views of the cityscape.

Dining options include the 200-seat SoleFood restaurant. The onsite eatery specializes in quality seafood dishes and flavorful entrees by Chef Thomas Harkins.

“I want Philadelphia to taste fish in a whole new way by preparing unique seafood with creative ingredients,” says Harkins. The opportunity to get exotic fish in Philadelphia, being a port city, is excellent.”

SoleFood offers several private dining options, including an adjacent room for large groups up to 100 pax. For smaller groups, choose one of the two “community” tables available for groups of 16. Planners can arrange a family-style meal from the a la carte menu or customize a meal with the staff. Menu highlights include the cirspy skin Tasmanian ocean trout, diver scallops and roaster lancaster chicken.

The Loews Philadelphia Hotel is located across the street from the Pennsylvania Convention Center and only 20 minutes from Philadelphia Airport.
