The first Walfdorf Astoria in Latin America, the 248-room Waldorf Astoria Panama opens in the heart of the capital in March 2013. The luxury hotel is located near the Park on Cintra Costera in the Central Business District, near the popular dining and entertainment district surrounding Uruguay Street. The Waldorf is less than a half-hour transfer to the Panama Canal and 15 minutes to Tocumen International Airport.
The Panama Canal has always brought visitors to Panama for over a century. That is true more so than ever these days due to the $5 billion supertanker expansion, attracting new luxury product like the Waldforf Astoria and many other similar hotels posting up in Panama City. Because of that, conventions, meetings, events and incentive business are booming in this centralized sun-kissed city.
The hotel is near Uruguay Street’s “Restaurant Row,” while in-house, there are four signature restaurants including Waldorf’s iconic Peacock Alley lobby bar, the Ginger sushi bar, Bungalow terrace/pool bar and farm-to-table BRIO Brasserie.
Offering more than 3,500 sf of meeting space, the hotel has three multipurpose meeting rooms and a ballroom, complemented with a versatile business center. The event space is located on Level 5 of the hotel.
The Waldorf Astoria Panama includes a 2,000-sf fitness center and a 2,000-sf spa. The elegant and residential interior design throughout all of the public evokes a metropolitan New York vibe mixed with the local culture and flavors, symbolizing the next era of Panamanian meeting and incentive travel.
