Jan/Feb Prevue digital issue

The theme for the Jan/Feb Prevue digital issue is Affordable Meetings, and we think you’ll find the issue packed with ideas and inspiration.

In the Jan/Feb Prevue digital issue, read about hotels, cruises, destinations, venues and more, with the goal of inspiring new ways of adding value to your events.

Don’t miss the article on Simple Meetings—defined as “those with between 10 and 50 attendees having the following common characteristics: meeting rooms, optional room nights, basic AV and a formula/format that can be replicated.” The fact is that  simple meetings make up half of all corporate meetings, yet 52 percent of companies book these meetings outside of “managed” meetings channels, a survey of both GBTA and Meeting Professionals International members found.

In the cover story on Affordable Meetings, Senior Editor Andrea Doyle explores cities like St. Louis, which offers innovation and culture at an affordable price, and Greenville, N.C., centrally located between Atlanta and Charlotte and a great destination for value.

Our In Focus section includes an interview with Sheila R. Clearly, AVP of Recognition and Conferences at National Life Group, who speaks about creating value, no matter the budget. “By having strong relationships with your destination, hotel and DMC, you have access to innovative ideas and the experiences of others facing budget pressures. Collaborate with those partners on ideas. Never lose sight of what’s important to the attendee or the goals of the event.

“For example, is the event experiential?,” she adds. “Ask yourself if there’s an opportunity for the attendee to make choices of what they do or how they do it. Then be sure to plan accordingly.”

Think of all you can do that costs little or nothing—with just some brainstorming and  collaboration!
