If you’re looking to foster networking and team building—and want to have some fun while doing so—experiences involving high-quality spirits and cocktails are the way to go.

Luckily for groups, two spirited meetings properties—one on the East Coast, the other on the West—are taking imbibing to the next level and inviting attendees to join in on the good times. Bottoms up!

Sample Bourbon at Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina

Groups of five to 50 can take over the Marriott’s Marina Kitchen Tasting Bar for a bourbon-sipping experience overseen by one of the property’s aptly named “bourbon masters” (the property employs a total of seven). Flights of high-quality Kentucky bourbon come paired with a bourbon-inspired menu curated by the hotel chef. Fun fact: Bourbon is America’s only native spirit—and the perfect drink for a networking event to remember. Before and after imbibing, attendees can convene in the hotel’s 84 meeting and event spaces, which overlooks California’s glittering San Diego bay near the San Diego Convention Center.

Get a Cocktail Crash Course at MGM National Harbor

The Maryland hotel’s interactive cocktail demos—designed for small groups of up to five—combine a drink-mixing tutorial with a history lesson on American cocktail culture over the last 150 years. Six iconic drinks are on the menu—the tropical mai tai, iconic Manhattan, refreshing Moscow mule, innovative and lesser-known aviation, citrusy side car and literature-inspired Hemingway daiquiri. As a bonus, attendees receive a Woodford Reserve barrel and recipe booklet to take home with them to later apply their newfound knowledge. The MGM National Harbor in Maryland has an ample 50,000 sf of meeting space, plus a spa and first-rate gaming.
