Search these websites for meeting and event planner positions.

After the pandemic ground meetings to a halt and caused unprecedented industry layoffs, the meetings and incentive industry is finally on the rebound. But many planners are out of work. Where to go to look for job opportunities? Prevue recommends that you start with the following websites that all list meeting and event planner positions.

1. Meetingjobs

Meetingjobs has been a dedicated job search website for the meetings industry since 1990. The site lists temporary, permanent, part-time, and full-time openings for meeting and event planners. Users can search by categories such as administrative, marketing & business development, sales, hospitality & tourism and more. Users can also search by location. Clicking on a summary brings you to a comprehensive job description, listing of  requirements and application instructions.

2. CMP Career Center

CMP planners will find many high-end opportunities at the Events Industry Council CMP Career Center. Users can search by keywords, category, level, type and education. Creating a job seeker account enables you to post a profile and sign up early for new listings, among other benefits. As of this writing, there were 62 open positions with titles ranging from events director to senior meeting planner to director of conference & event services.

3. LinkedIn

With 171 million members in the US and 740 million members worldwide, LinkedIn is the leading social network for professional networking and career development. It displays resume profiles and has many ways to connect and communicate with professional contacts. The LinkedIn job page connects users with positions tailored to their specific profile. You can narrow the search by title, skill, company or location. There are also LinkedIn suggestions for job searches by title. Helpful info includes listing the number of applicants and mapping out commuting routes.

4. PCMA

Useful features on the PCMA job seeker site includes search filters for position function and type in addition to searching for keywords, titles and location. Users can upload their resumes and sign up to receive alerts for specific searches. The 38 listings currently on the site have titles ranging from manager, events management to content producer to director of meetings.

5. MPI

The MPI Career Center mirrors the PCMA search engine, and in fact has some of the same job listings. Each position has a detailed description and a information window, including minimum requirements for education and experience as well as travel requirements. There’s also a handy link to your LinkedIn connections at the company you’re searching.
