Incentives
Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa has a golf course that is second to none and is a highlight of many incentive trips.

What the best incentives do is take something ordinary and make it extraordinary. Take golf, for instance. Many resorts have PGA and LPGA pros available to lead clinics. The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa, set in Savannah’s historic river district, is one such resort.

Andrew Rice, a South African golfer who is one of Golf Digest’s “50 Best Teachers in America,” is a favorite of incentives as his lessons result in immediate improvement. The resort features a Troon managed Robert Cupp/Sam Snead-designed golf course.

Another fun way incentive groups incorporate golf while at the resort is with a nighttime chipping contest off the deck that is adjacent to the ninth green. “We will arrange to have cigar rollers out there, desserts, and this chipping contest that everyone enjoys. The winner is often someone who has never played golf before,” says Craig Cupit, director of sales and marketing, Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa.

Brightspot Incentives and Events recently brought a golf incentive up a notch by bringing in Jeff Klaiber, a renowned golf course architect and designer who is the author of “The Gritty Golf Guide.” He shares with his groups his unconventional approach to golf strategy and architectural course design. Golfers of all skill levels get the opportunity to truly immerse themselves into the mental aspects of the game, all while in a relaxed and entertaining atmosphere that creates a memorable bespoke golf experience.

Lobster bakes on Page Island are popular for incentive groups.

Another popular Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa incentive experience include dinner, lunches and teambuilding activities on private Page Island. “The group boards boats from our dock and sail down the Savannah River where an authentic Lowcountry experience awaits,” explains Cupit.

Car driving and racing experiences are popular as well as Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa has a road course as it hosts the Concours d’Elegance annually. Porsche and BMW have racing schools in South Carolina that will do ride and drives on-property.

The 390-room Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa features 286,600 sq. ft. of meeting space in 46 meeting rooms. Amenities include a Heavenly Spa by Westin with 21 treatment rooms, a biking trail, boating, hiking, a jogging/fitness trail, and tennis.
