Revel Group Premieres Chicago Event Space

Revel Group Downtown Venue
The Revel Group Downtown Venue

The Revel Group, a full-service team of event professionals, now has a venue to showcase its services: Revel Downtown. The new 2-story venue just opened in Chicago in early March and is the first of three locations that the company plans to open.

The venue is housed in a historic building designed by Daniel Burnahm. Formerly an industrial building, its 1920s brick façade, Tuscan arcading and high ceilings give it classic, urban appeal. The space offers a very similar vibe with its beautiful terrazzo floors and off-white color palette—especially helpful for meeting planners looking to do an experiential marketing or branding event. There are even fabric panels that help soften the space.

Location, location, location is the highlight of the new space says, says Britt Whitfield, co-partner at Revel Group. Situated at Canal and Randolph streets, within walking distance of Chicago’s business district, it is now the largest off-premise event space in the Loop Area. Not only is the space large, but it serves as a blank canvas for meeting planners looking to get attendees out of the board room.

Revel Group includes all aspects of the event into the written proposal for the space, offering a very cohesive event for meeting planners. For instance, Limelight Catering provides catering services at the venue. The catering team offers farm-to-table cuisine such as a braised pork belly bite or craft beer shooter with a mini Wisconsin brat and beer-braised onions. The catering company even has a full woodworking studio to customize food stations. Past ones have included a hanging flatbread station created using copper piping.

“You can really take it over as a private space and brand it as your own event,” says Whitfield. “That’s the biggest thing that sets it apart.”

The 13,000-sf main floor can hold up to 400 guests seated or 850 for a cocktail reception. Smaller groups can meet on the 5,000-sf second floor, dubbed The Loft at Revel Downtown, which can host up to 200 people. Both spaces can be rented together or separately, depending on the size of the group, and each have their own distinct entrance. Following the opening of Revel Downtown, the Revel Group plans to open two other Chicago locations—Revel Motor Row and Revel River North—in the coming years.
