Riviera Maya hosted the Torchbearers from 19 – 22 July for the first time. The Torchbearers is a unique educational marketplace for meeting planners from North America. The actual event is set up as an incentive trip, so all participants have a change to explore and enjoy different attractions and admire the beautiful natural surroundings of the host destination.
Another important part of the event are the trade shows where the participants have the opportunity to meet with key partners and suppliers.
Attendance is on an invitation only base, and all selected partners are senior employees of qualified incentive and meeting planner companies, as well as buyers that have passed the selection process.
A total of 120 meeting planners and buyers participated in the event, giving the Riviera Maya the unique opportunity to showcase the first class hotel infrastructure and all the optional tours and attractions the destination offers.
