Meeting planners don’t always receive the appreciation or praise that they deserve, making it discouraging to forge a path to success.

Luckily, there are some famous female celebrities who have insight into doing just that. Here are five quotes that can inspire success.

Jessica Alba on Gaining Confidence

Yes, she’s an actress, but Jessica Alba also co-founded the Honest Company in 2011. The personal care product company is now worth more than $300 million in revenue, but Alba didn’t always have the answer on how to move forward. Luckily, for us, now she does:

“I was insecure about the things I wasn’t good at. I would allow people who didn’t necessarily know any more than me to take the power,” Alba told Inc. in a June 2017 interview. Now, I’m really transparent about what I don’t know, and I’m cool with asking questions.”

Reese Witherspoon on Celebrating the Wins

Like Alba, Reese Witherspoon is quite the entrepreneur. She co-founded Pacific Standard, a production company behind movies such as “Wild” and “Gone Girl,” in 2012. More recently, she launched clothing and lifestyle brand Draper James as well as a multimedia firm, called Hello Sunshine, which has a mission of bringing female-focused books to TV and film. But the “Legally Blonde” star’s success has certainly not been linear:

“Lord knows, every day is not a success; every year is not a success. You have to celebrate the good,” she says.

Meryl Streep on Trying

Nominated for a record 21 Academy Awards, winning three, and 31 Golden Globe nominations, winning eight, Meryl Streep certainly is an icon in the film industry. And to say she’s successful would be an understatement. What is one thing she owes it all to? Trying:

“It’s good to push yourself and do what you don’t necessarily want to do, that if you’re not automatically good at it, you should try it. Trying is so important,” she says.

Ellen DeGeneres on Persevering

While Ellen DeGeneres is known for making audiences laugh across the globe, she’s also a real estate mogul, producer, writer and entrepreneur. But it hasn’t been without its challenges:

“It’s our challenges and obstacles that give us layers of depth and make us interesting. Are they fun when they happen? No. But they are what make us unique. And that’s what I know for sure … I think,” she says.

Beyonce Knowles on Being Nervous

Queen Bey is at the top of her game in the music world. She’s won 22 Grammy Awards and is the most nominated woman in the award’s history. And that’s not to mention that she’s sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time. Even after all that success though, she still gets nervous—and that’s a good thing:

“I think it’s healthy for a person to be nervous. It means you care—that you work hard and want to give a great performance. You just have to channel that nervous energy into the show,” she says.
