The June 25 debut of The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort on Hawaii’s Big Island introduced a completely re-imagined property that underwent a $46 million renovation.

Located above Hapuna Beach on the Kohala Coast, the 232-room property features four new culinary concepts, refreshed public space and an all-new, adults-only pool—ideal for attendees looking to take a dip. Designed with a biophilic focus, the lobby incorporates the traditional “aloha” spirit with an open and airy layout that connects guests to nature. A custom living wall and vertical garden highlights the destination’s native plants, while interactive check-in pods bring a touch of technology to the arrival experience.

The property’s four new culinary concepts will make it easy for groups to gather after meeting in the property’s massive 85,000 sf of event space. Meridia, serving up Mediterranean-inspired dishes, features a display kitchen, craft cocktails and outdoor seating, while emphasizing local ingredients native to the island. Naupaka Beach Grill is more casual, with salads, sandwiches and pupu platters available alongside a list of local beers on tap. Lastly, ‘Ikena Landing is an open-air breakfast venue, while Piko Coffee + Bar pours Kona Coffee alongside tropical libations.

Groups won’t want to miss the new adults-only infinity edge pool, featuring private cabanas, chaise lounges and pool ledge loungers available for complete relaxation. A wellness center also offers Westin’s signature wellness programs through the onsite WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio and Hapuna Spa.

The resort’s official grand opening celebration is scheduled for July 14, and a portion of the event’s proceeds will go toward the American Cancer Society.
