Seasonal activities and intriguing history inspire meetings in Lake Geneva.
Lake Geneva is rich in culture, and groups can learn about the area on a cruise around the lake. Attendees will hear stories of how its mansions were built following the Chicago fire of 1871, as well as its gangster past when Al Capone and his gang were regular visitors.
“The Lake Geneva region has cultural activities for every season,” says Susan Smolarek, group sales manager at Visit Lake Geneva. “Winterfest is the national snow sculpting competition where all states are invited to share their creations with the public by creating a snow sculpture by hand. ‘Woman’s Weekend’ is a great retreat for women to get together to enjoy art, jewelry and spas. Every season has a great event for whatever your experience goal is!”
Resort Renovations
The AAA Four Diamond Grand Geneva Resort & Spa is situated on 1,300 acres in the woodlands of Lake Geneva. It boasts more than 60,000 sf of meeting space, which is undergoing renovations this year. Groups can participate in team building activities such as pizza challenges, archery, scavenger hunts, chili cook-offs, build-a-bike, guacamole, mojito mix-offs and extreme sled building.
“Most people are up for a fun food challenge or to get together to build something as a group,” says Brad Lyles, director of sales and marketing. “During the summer, the property also hosts a fireworks display every Sunday evening. It’s always a nice way to start a week or wrap-up a group outing.”
