One&Only Palmilla Los Cabos

Some of the best golfing in the world happens in Mexico.

Ancient ruins to ocean views, here are three of the top-rated golf courses in Mexico to get your group started.

El Camaleon

Attendees can play at Mexico’s first golf course to host an official PGA Tour event at El Camaleon, located in Mayakoba with access to four properties: Fairmont Mayakoba, Rosewood Mayakoba, Banyan Tree Mayakoba and the newly opened Andaz Mayakoba. The 18-hole course winds through the lush tropical landscape with jungle and ocean views for an unforgettable—and challenging—round of golf. Groups can top this off with a shaman-led “Mayan Healing Hands” session at Rosewood Mayakoba’s Sense, a Rosewood Spa where the waters of the on-site cenote are sure to revive exhausted execs. This is followed up with a 60-minute temazcal experience.

One&Only Palmilla Los Cabos

The sea-swept Jack Nicklaus-designed course at One&Only Palmilla Los Cabos has been a regular on Golf Digest’s “Best of Mexico” list. The course’s 27 holes and three nines stagger around four lakes and deep shifts in elevation, offering golfers a real challenge with the added reward of jaw-dropping views.

Iberostar Playa Paraiso Golf Club

Another postcard-perfect course just a 30-minute drive south of Cancun that’s stood the test of time is the Iberostar Playa Paraiso Golf Club. The 18-hole P.B. Dye course is edged by lush landscaping, wildlife and ancient ruins in the distance while also featuring deep bunkers and narrow fairways, making it challenging for beginning golfers. Its natural rockwork makes it one of a kind.
