Beaches, unbridled nature, constant sunshine: Perth in Western Australia has all the components in place to dazzle incentive groups. Set between the fertile wine regions in the southwest and iconic Australian outback to the north, Perth is known for its coastal charm, fresh seafood, and fabulous wine.

Located on the banks of the Swan River, Perth offers a range of outdoor teambuilding activities and event space, not to mention one of the biggest inner-city parks in the world—Kings Park and Botanic Garden. Overlooking the city and the Swan River, the total area of the park is almost 1,000 acres, 148 acres larger than Central Park in New York City, and it is home to 319 species of native plants and around 80 bird species. The park is also a place of great significance to the local Aboriginal people, and it’s possible to incorporate the park into your event in several ways including immersing yourself in the Aboriginal culture during a private walking tour.

Not a destination to rest on its laurels, the city boasts several new developments. QT Perth is a new 184- room, 18-story hotel featuring seven conference rooms capable of accommodating up to 315 guests, a signature bar and grill restaurant, rooftop bar and café. The rooftop bar has views across the Swan River, Perth Hills and Perth Stadium.

The new Westin features 368 rooms, two restaurants, and a total of nine event spaces, including Perth’s largest hotel ballroom. At approximately 8,100 sq. ft., the ballroom can accommodate 520 guests for a sit-down event.

The Ritz-Carlton Perth at Elizabeth Quay, set to open in October, will feature 204 luxury hotel suites accompanied by a wide range of event venues. The podium rooftop bar will have a prime vantage point overlooking the Swan River.

What makes incentives memorable is experiencing the out-of-the-ordinary together. Unique activities and adventures create team camaraderie, and there is no wider range of offerings than in Perth. Possibilities include taking a selfie with a quokka on Rottnest Island. Only a 25-minute ferry ride from Perth’s city-center, Rottnest Island is home to a range of wildlife including fur seals, green turtles, osprey, and quokkas. Guests can follow in the footsteps of Chris Hemsworth, Hugh Jackman, and Margot Robbie and take a selfie with this famous marsupial while touring the island. Whales are often spotted from the island’s West End platform and snorkeling with 135 species of tropical fish, stingrays, and green turtles is popular. Groups can tour the island on foot, electric bike, or Segway or can get more adventurous with a glass-bottom sea kayak to spot bottlenose dolphins.
