The elegant Langham Huntington, Pasadena was the backdrop for Prevue’s Global Meeting & Incentive Planning Summit last week, sponsored by Tourism New Zealand. Here are some highlights.

Prevue’s Global Meeting & Incentive Planning Summit brought 30 senior meeting planners to the lovely Langham Huntington, Pasadena for two days packed with education and networking. Keynote speaker Didier Scaillet, CEO of SITE, kicked off the event with an overview of how the geopolitical situation around the globe and issues of perception are influencing incentive decision-making. Other speakers included Terri Woodin of Meeting Sites Resource, who took a deep dive into contracts, and Agnés Canonica of MCI, who shared advice on navigating travel documents for international meetings.

The Langham wowed the guests with its creative room sets and innovative F&B, including a “tomato-inspired” break, an Eggs Benedict station for breakfast (served California-style on avocado toast) and a fabulous luncheon that elevated the family-style concept to a whole new level. For the opening reception, the hosts paid homage to the New Zealand sponsors with a hobbit house crepe station, the hit of the party, which also featured entertainment by a local duo, Carly & the King and dances by Air New Zealand’s Maori dance troupe, all the way from New Zealand.

The final night’s reception was held at The Garland in North Hollywood, a retro-style boutique hotel owned by the family of actress Beverly Garland of My Three Sons fame. The Hollywood evening capped off with a visit to the original Brady Bunch House, just a couple of blocks away, which had the entire bus singing the theme song on the way back to the hotel.
