Why attend?

Attendees sometimes need encouragement to attend an event, especially if they don’t have a clue about how to pitch the expense to their boss.

That’s why creating a “Why Attend” page can be extremely beneficial in driving attendance. Here are five do’s of creating a quality “Why Attend” page on your event website.

Include Testimonials

Testimonials from well-known industry experts and professionals can really go a long way in attracting people to your event. Make sure to include ones that help tell the story of your event with specifics instead of using a generic sales pitch.

Create an Interactive Tab

A lot of events have a very broad audience, which can make it difficult to reach individual attendees. By creating an interactive tab, this helps attendees see how the event can benefit them specifically. For instance, a customizable schedule or letter to a boss can go a long way in making it easier for an attendee to see why the event could be beneficial.

Use Personal Words Like “You” & “I”

Similarly, use words that also make it personal. People relate better when they feel as if someone is speaking directly to them. Using first-person words such as “you” and “I” add a much more personal touch that can win over attendees.

Be Direct

Use direct language on your “Why Attend” page. Instead of using words like “should” or “could,” switch them out for words like “must” or “need.” The phrase “You Must Attend” has a lot more power behind it than “You Should Attend.”

Add Photos & Videos

Last but certainly not least, visuals really help give attendees a sense of what to expect way more than words can. Photos from last year’s event or videos of what’s in store for this year help create an added excitement.
