Three new meetings-focused hotels have recently opened in Dubai as well as a major new event venue, boosting the city’s MICE offering and providing more options for UAE meetings and events.
Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC)
July 2019 saw the opening of the new Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), located in one of Dubai’s most coveted neighborhoods and ideal for meetings and events of all sizes.
The hotel spans the 18th to 55th floors of the Burj Daman tower in the heart of Dubai’s commerce hub, and features a ballroom, unique library concept with an open kitchen, boardroom and meeting rooms. The hotel’s interiors are inspired by early-1960s New York, featuring brass elements and walnut finishes, and the property boasts three new F&B options, as well as indoor and rooftop lounges.
Mandarin Oriental Jumeira Dubai
The new Mandarin Oriental Jumeira Dubai opened in early 2019 and is one of the closest beachfront resorts to Dubai’s financial and business districts. It boasts waterfront views of the Arabian Gulf as well as Dubai’s iconic skyline, and its meeting facilities include a 2,300-sf glass-walled ballroom with a beachfront terrace and four additional meeting rooms. The property also offers a Mindful Meetings program that includes organic, locally sourced menus, stretching and yoga sessions for breakouts led by in-house experts, and the opportunity to include guided meditations and other relaxation methods into your meetings.
W Dubai – The Palm
W Dubai – The Palm opened in Jan. 2019 and is located at the Palm Jumeirah. It offers 350 rooms across seven floors and a total of 16,038 sf of meeting space. The largest space is the 3,986-sf Great Room, which is the second largest Great Room on the Palm, and can comfortably accommodate up to 800 attendees. The property also features six breakout rooms as well as outdoor spaces including a 2,000-sf lawn.
Coca-Cola Arena
Another recent addition to Dubai’s portfolio of event venues is the new Coca-Cola Arena, located at the heart of Dubai at City Walk. The 17,000-seat indoor, air-conditioned arena is spread across 500,000 sf and is capable of holding large-scale business events. The complex also offers a variety of F&B, entertainment and retail options for attendees before and after events.
