Silversea has a new plan for bringing exhausted execs to the table.

Set to launch on the Silver Moon next fall, Silversea’s new holistic culinary program, SALT (Sea and Land Taste) aims to prove that, as in life, the way to the hearts of attendees is through their stomachs. A new version of the salt life, SALT will immerse groups into the essence of the world’s richest cultures through diverse foodie adventures in eight restaurants—each with a distinct concept.

Whether the signature Hot Rocks concept at The Grill, authentic Japanese fare served in Kaiseki, or a meal in the SALT Kitchen, which replaces Indochine, attendees are sure to gain a solid understanding of the world’s most enticing food cultures. Dedicated to the authentic flavors of sailed destinations, the kitchen will offer an ever-changing menu paired with regional wines, enabling attendees to form meaningful connections with each other and with local cultures. Likewise, the SALT Bar, adjoining the kitchen, will offer an array of regional drinks.

“Our guests share a common passion for food, but what they really love about food is that it’s an amazing key to get under a culture and understand the soul of a destination.”

Further enriching this culinary exploration is Silver Moon’s SALT Lab, a new space where attendees can deep-dive with local chefs via workshops, tastings and demonstrations into regional food cultures and learn about local ingredients and artisanal techniques. The lab will take the place of La Dame, which will move to deck 8 with triple the capacity it currently has. Themed experiences that adapt to the region will take place in the lab.

Land-based excursions will take the food-culture relationship even further before returning to the ship for a hands-on experience, whether this means discovering the history, conventions and secrets of the cuisine, sampling local specialties, listening to legend and lore of traditional recipes or impromptu culinary workshops.

“At Silversea, we are all about traveling deeper in luxury, and we really see SALT as a primary program to deliver this concept,” says Barbara Muckermann, CMO. “Silver Moon will showcase an entire ecosystem around culinary discovery, which is very different from what the industry has been doing so far. Our guests share a common passion for food, but what they really love about food is that it’s an amazing key to get under a culture and understand the soul of a destination.”

Silver Moon will be a sister ship to Silver Muse, mirroring its small-ship intimacy, sense of luxury and Italian elegance to offer a comfortable cruise experience.
