These days meeting planners are challenged as never before to engage attendees in meaningful ways.

One method for getting that engagement is to use event crowdsourcing techniques to solicit attendee input, explains Sara Erdos, a business rep with the event-planning software company etouches.

One tip Sara suggests is to crowdsource for event speakers and topics through video pitching. Adam Parry of Event Industry News has a proven track record of using this method, referred to as campfire sessions, at Event Tech Live. The topics of the interactive sessions, 10 or 20 minutes in length, stem from earlier public voting on 1-minute videos that were pitched prior to the event.

For more creative ideas on using crowdsourcing to create deeper attendee engagement that begins long before the meeting or event ever begins, check out Sara’s complete article, The Wisdom of Crowds.
