The Park

In typical Vegas fashion, The Park from MGM Resorts International will bring the best of iconic plazas, promenades and squares from around the world to The Strip. Set to debut on April 4, The Park will serve as a gathering place between New York-New York and Monte Carlo resorts as well as offer quieter escape from The Strip’s hustle and bustle.

“Today’s consumer wants to sample, to experience, to discover—it’s no longer about visiting one resort and staying there,” says Jim Murren, chairman and CEO of MGM Resorts International. “With this in mind, we’ve created a neighborhood environment that invites our guests to explore many of our resorts on the Strip’s west side, collecting experiences along the way, with The Park serving as a central gathering space for people to relax, dine and be entertained.”

This outdoor oasis features restaurants and bars situated amidst trees and 50-foot, trumpet-like shade structures. At night, these structures will emit LED sequences into the sky, where diners will be able to view them from the open-air restaurant patios. The Park’s landscaping will also include unique water features such as 100-foot-long water walls as well as native desert plants and flowers. In fact, about 75 mature trees were salvaged to enhance the environment and stay within the project’s green initiatives. (The restaurant corridor, for instance, is being built to LEED Gold standards.)

While the vegetation, water features and shade structures provide a whimsical ambiance, they were also created to provide a comfortable environment so that visitors can enjoy The Park all-year round. Marble, a naturally cooling material, is being used for grounds and surfaces, and will be hand-laid in colorful, mosaic tile patterns to create a Southwestern vibe.

While a variety of restaurants—Shake Shack, Beer Garden, California Pizza Kitchen, Sake Rok and Bruxie—will be ideal choices for groups to host evening dinners and corporate events, the 20,000-seat T-Mobile Arena will also debut in The Park, bringing live concerts and other event opportunities to this section of The Strip.
