Cliff House Maine to Bring Local Food, Activities to Groups

The August 2016 reopening of the 132-room Cliff House Maine will feature the first phase of a massive $40 million overhaul. Situated along the coast on 70 acres in Cape Neddick, Maine, the resort will offer an authentic, local experience at its restaurants, spa and in the activities offered to groups—in addition to the captivating ocean views throughout the property.

“Guests, whether traveling for leisure or business, will have the opportunity to become immersed in the true essence of Maine through our magnificent setting, locally inspired programming and upscale amenities,” says Scott Spann, Cliff House Maine’s general manager.

Not only will the property’s restaurants and bars offer panoramic ocean views in locations suspended above the Atlantic Ocean, their menus will bring the flavors of Maine to life. The Tiller, the property’s signature restaurant, will feature a seasonal menu serving up local produce, freshly caught fish and homemade recipes passed down through generations. The restaurant’s outdoor bar pays homage to the local fisherman and early New England rum distillers through its craft-cocktail menu. Nubb’s Lobster Shack will also dish out typical New England fare, with Maine lobster rolls, fried clams and a raw bar available on the menu. Local craft beers round out the experience in addition to cocktails handcrafted using garden-picked ingredients. Groups will also be able to experience locally sourced menus, with everything from haddock to lobster to local fruit juices available for catering.

Attendees in search of some relaxation will find it at the 9,000-sf spa, which uses treatments inspired by the sea. Offering Reiki energy work, deep tissue therapy and stone therapy, the spa uses the water, stone, sky and sand elements of coastal Maine in its array of treatments, which also include organic botanical poultice ritual and wild blueberry and sugar scrubs. Groups can relax at the spa between meetings in the resort’s 25,000 sf of meeting space made up of 11 meeting spaces and a 150-seat amphitheater. For groups that want some adventure, tennis, hiking, biking, sea kayaking, fishing, paddle boarding, ice skating, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and helicopter tours up and down the coast will be available, depending on the season.
