Transcend Cruises will soon begin construction on its first purpose-built cruise ship designed exclusively for the group market. The new ship is set to make waves in the industry when it arrives in 2025.

Collaborating with Tillberg Design of Sweden, renowned for its expertise in luxury cruise and yacht architecture, Transcend Cruises has meticulously crafted onboard spaces tailored to enhance group experiences.

From dedicated meeting venues to luxurious accommodations, every element of the ship is designed to foster collaboration and connection among groups, making it an ideal choice for corporate retreats, incentive trips and team-building voyages.

“Today’s group, meeting, incentive travel and affinity program organizers demand innovation and flexibility to suit their client’s needs, all while delivering a level of service they would expect from a five-star hotel on land. Transcend is truly a game-changer for these market segments,” said Hans Rood, Transcend’s CEO, in a press statement.

Transcend will provide meeting and incentive planners and the affinity market with highly functional and elevated options, providing innovative alternatives to land-based conferences and events. Their vessels will feature five dedicated venues tailored for group programs, including a 2-story Forum theater that can host everything from lectures to concerts.

Attendees will benefit from highly flexible settings for social and professional engagements, including meetings, dining, presentations and breakout sessions. Each venue is equipped with cutting-edge technology, ensuring a seamless experience for corporate events and incentive trips. Transcend Cruises will feature advanced technologies that allow charter clients to elevate their brand experiences through dynamic digital signage, custom lighting, sound and imagery.

“We have had an interactive collaboration with Tillberg Design over the last several years. This has prepared us to bring our blend of new ships and a charter-focused business structure that erases current barriers, enabling our MICE and group clients to fully leverage the benefits of exclusive use, luxury river voyages for the first time,” said Transcend’s Founder and Chief Visionary Officer, Matthew Shollar, in a press statement.

The vessels will provide dedicated spaces, including staff cabins that accommodate up to six people. A fully equipped office with printing capabilities will be available alongside a digitally branded reception desk in the lobby, placing the group’s staff front and center.

Accommodations include up to 120 guests in 60 staterooms that can convert into 2-room, 2-bath suites, allowing flexibility for 30 to 120 attendees. With a maximum of 60 percent fewer guests than retail-focused European river cruise lines and the highest crew-to-guest ratio on the rivers, Transcend Cruises promises an unparalleled experience for meetings and incentive travel.

A commitment to responsible travel is central to Transcend’s mission. The company prioritizes local sourcing and employs food waste minimization technology to benefit communities and reduce transport impact. Additionally, Transcend actively manages dockings to mitigate overtourism and reduce fuel consumption, ensuring a sustainable and enriching experience for all guests.

Bookings for full charters are now open, with sailings commencing in the fourth quarter of 2025 on the Rhine River. Sales are also being accepted for the Danube with Transcend’s second ship’s sailings starting May 1, 2026.
