1. Ask key questions. To lead your career growth, start by asking: Am I visible for the roles I aspire to? Am I intentionally cultivating relationships with key decision-makers? Am I learning skills needed for the next phase?
2. Create a future road map. Identify three roles you aspire to in the next one to three years. List the skills, relationships and experiences needed to acheive those roles and start acting on them.
3. Build a pressure playbook. Write down your top three strategies to stay centered and model emotional resilience when stakes are high. When you are calm under pressure, your team stays calm as well.
4. Develop interview confidence. Before an interview, practice speaking as if you’re already the solution. Frame your career story through outcomes, not tasks. Speak with optimism and ownership, even about setbacks. Focus on connection.
5. Audit your LinkedIn profile. Update your headline to showcase value, not just job title. For example, instead of Director of Operations say Driving Growth and Building High-Impact Teams | Senior Operations Leader.
6. Reframe setbacks. Everyone has setbacks. Turn them into breakthroughs by asing three key questions: what did I learn, what new strategy will I try, and how can I show up and re-engage even stronger?
7. Cultivate mental fitness. Sustainable success is about resilience, not just stamina. When burnout creeps in, pause for a few minutes and ask yourself what’s driving it. Is the pressure real, or is it your inner critic in disguise? Find a focused, centered mindset not by avoiding pressure, but by managing it.
