MeCo Offers Help for Job Hunters

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

  MeCo

In honor of Labor Day, MeCo, the Meetings Community Google group is offering industry members who are looking for work a chance to “advertise” themselves—their education, their skills and specialties—on the MeCo list.

If you are not a member, you can apply online here. MeCo admins can not add anyone, as you must apply through your own Google account. All applicants are subject to approval to avoid scammers. Note: You must be using the same email that you used to join MeCo in order to get “in” to the MeCo group. If you are logged into another email (some people have more than one email account), you will not be “seen” as a member of MeCo.

Follow these instructions from MeCo:

1.  Please write-up a short synopsis of yourself and what you offer a potential employer.  You could share your education, what types of companies/organizations you’ve worked for, any special skills you have such as fluency in languages, certifications you’ve received, etc.  Please also share your ideal position e.g., corporate planner, non-profit, pharma, hotel sales, hotel CSM, restaurant industry, student internship, special events, sports, etc.

2.  Please DO NOT attach a resume; we’ve found that most people don’t like to click on documents that they are not familiar with.

3.  Please DO include the name that you are listed under on such employment sites as “LinkedIn” so that potential employers can find out more about you there.

4.  Please “share the wealth”; if there is a particular employment site that has been helpful to you, please let your fellow job seekers know what it is.  Examples of such industry sites are:
PCMA’s job board:  https://careers.pcma.org/jobs/
Meetingjobs:  https://meetingjobs.com/
