The Events Industry Council has announced that ConferenceDirect, a full service global meeting solutions company, has achieved Silver Level certification to the EIC Sustainable Event Standards for its 2024 Annual Partner Meeting. The standards provide event planners and suppliers with prescriptive actions for producing and delivering sustainable events.
“We are proud to have earned Silver Level certification from the Events Industry Council for our 2024 Annual Partner Meeting, our largest event of the year,” said ConferenceDirect CEO Jerry Horan in a media announcement. “ConferenceDirect recognizes the importance of reducing its environmental impact. This was also our first carbon neutral Annual Partner Meeting, which is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and the collective efforts of our team and partners.”
The EIC Sustainable Event Standards specify performance criteria in the areas of organizational management, marketing, communications and engagement, climate action, water management, materials and circularity, supply chain management, diversity, equity and inclusion, accessibility and social impact. The Event Organizer standard is one of several comprehensive standards for environmentally sustainable events.

The 2024 Annual Partner Meeting was held from April 7-11, 2024, at Loews Arlington in Arlington, Texas. With 950 attendees and a total of 2,560 room nights, this event demonstrated ConferenceDirect’s ability to host large-scale, impactful gatherings while maintaining a strong focus on environmental responsibility.
The Alliance for Audited Media, a not-for-profit auditing organization, performed the independent third-party certification of ConferenceDirect’s compliance with the Event Organizer standard.
