Two years after Hyatt introduced its Hyatt Convention Alliance (HCA), the company continues to grow the experience for meeting planners.
Hyatt launched HCA back in 2015 to give meeting planners the ability to book meetings seamlessly from one market to the next over several years. There are currently 10 hotels in nine different markets that make up HCA: Hyatt Regency Atlanta, Hyatt Regency Chicago, Hyatt Regency Dallas, Hyatt Regency Denver, Hyatt Regency New Orleans, Hyatt Regency O’Hare, Hyatt Regency Orlando, Hyatt Regency Seattle, Grand Hyatt San Antonio and Grand Hyatt San Diego. The latest addition to the alliance is the 1,260-room Hyatt Regency Seattle, which will be the largest hotel in Seattle once it’s completed in 2018.
“Due to the collaboration among our hotels in the Hyatt Convention Alliance, we have seen booked revenue nearly triple from multiyear agreements over the last few years,” says Nate Hardesty, regional vice president of sales for Hyatt Sales Force. “The collaboration on contracting and partnering with meeting planners has allowed us to leverage a wider variety of options of hotels and cities than ever before.”
The way HCA works is that, early on in the booking process, meeting planners are connected to an HCA associate on-property who acts as a point person throughout the contracting process. The on-property associate also manages the customer’s next event, ensuring a turnkey and efficient solution for planners preparing multiple events and conferences from coast to coast.
“As expected, the meeting planner feedback has been overwhelmingly positive,” says Hardesty. “Meeting planners have expressed their gratitude in how we have made the multi-year booking process more seamless for their large groups, allowing them (and us) to spend more time doing what we do best before, during and after group programs: making human connections.”
