The Society for Incentive Travel Excellence’s new online training is free to members until June 30.

The Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) has created three new online education tracks based on incentive professionals’ varied careers: The Business Case for Incentive Travel, Selling to the Incentive Market and Managing Incentive Travel Courses.

Last year, the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) Foundation took the charge to research job functions in the incentive industry with the goal of developing competency-based education and, in the future, training and certification programs. The study identified three job families: Coordinator, Manager and Director, as well as 14 core competencies, which it  aligned with the three education tracks.

“We believe what we learned from the job analysis may eventually be used to create industry-wide standards for job descriptions hiring and selection, performance appraisals and even compensation,” said SITE CEO Kevin Hinton.

Now, with a grant from the Foundation, SITE has introduced its Knowledge Centre, an online learning portal available to both members and non-members. It offers 12 courses of entry- to mid-level content. Included are assessment quizzes, as well as a Proof of Completion, which can be downloaded and used to obtain CE credit. The portal is free to SITE members through June 30.

SITE is known for incentive industry education: In 2013, it introduced the Certified Incentive Specialist (CIS) program which, since its inception, has certified 1000 incentive travel professionals from 42 countries. The program is now available online for SITE members with 5+ years of experience.
