Breast Cancer Awareness Month is upon us.
And meeting planners looking to support the cause can find an ally in these hotels across the globe in an effort to encourage attendees to #ThinkPink.
Hard Rock International
Celebrating its 19th Annual PINKTOBER campaign, select Hard Rock Hotel and Cafe properties will host breast cancer awareness events that support breast cancer charities in their communities. That includes a fundraising gala on Oct. 19 at the original Hard Rock Cafe in London, and an auction and live performance by Creed lead vocalist Scott Stapp on Oct. 20 at the Hard Rock Casino Northfield Park in Ohio, to name a few. The Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, Fla., will also be offering pink VIP pool cabana rentals all month long, with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.
B Hotels & Resorts
B Hotels & Resorts, specifically its B on Canal New Orleans property, launched its own #BPink campaign with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society and the hotel company’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer initiative. Signature pink cocktails will be available at the property all month long, and the hotel company will donate $1 for every drink sold to American Cancer Society.
Manchester Grand Hyatt
San Diego’s Manchester Grand Hyatt is hosting a slew of #ThinkPink activities, including a Dine for the Cure event on Oct. 18 for lunch and dinner, in which 25 percent of the proceeds will be donated to support Komen San Diego, a local breast cancer program. Women@Hyatt San Diego chapter is also raising money as participants in Pedal for Pink with CycleBar Hillcrest.
Order a pink negroni at The Garland’s Front Yard restaurant, and for every drink purchased, the property will make a donation to the Casting for Recovery charity, which provides healing outdoor retreats for women with breast cancer at no cost to the participants.
Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa
Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa in California will also offer cocktails for breast cancer awareness. The five specialty cocktails will be available all month, and $1 per cocktail sold will be donated to Susan G. Komen. The property also launched an oncology spa menu for the month.
The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia
Groups meeting at The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia will witness its pink lobby lit up all month long to support the cause. It is also a participant in the 17th annual Lights For The Cure campaign.
Pasea Hotel & Spa
The team at the Pasea Hotel & Spa in Huntington Beach, Calif., just underwent a customized training course, called Wellness for Cancer, in an effort to better treat individuals with cancer who are undergoing treatments that can cause skin to be hypersensitive as well as cause painful pressure and swelling throughout the body. The treatments at Aarna Spa will also feature Balinese rituals to help assist in these therapies.
Grace Santorini & Grace Mykonos
The Grace Santorini and Grace Mykonos properties in Greece are both raising funds to promote awareness and help the local Almazois breast cancer charity. Complimentary rose champagne will be offered to guests upon arrival, while specialty pink cocktails and mocktails will be available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds going to the charity. The Grace Santorini property will also offer a pink-themed dinner, with proceeds going to charity, and a pink poolside experience, showcasing a pink pool and complimentary strawberry sorbet.
Located in the United Kingdom’s Hampshire, the luxurious Chewton Glen and its spa is offering a Think Pink Spa Day package. Attendees can choose a 50-minute treatment, have lunch at the pool bar buffet paired with a flute of pink fizz and indulge in an entire day filled with spa and leisure activities, with proceeds going to support the Breast Cancer Haven in Wessex.
InterContinental Doha The City
At Qatar’s InterContinental Doha The City, breast cancer awareness is top of mind with a slew of Pink October activities. That includes complimentary screening services for eligible women at the hotel’s Event Centre on Oct. 8 and 30.
