Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego has now completed the renovation of its 33-story Seaport Tower, which is the first of two towers undergoing redesign as part of a two-year, property-wide project.

The newly renovated Seaport Tower features redesigned guest rooms and suites, meeting space upgrades and a new third-floor pool experience, Coastline Pool & Lounge. The new poolside space boasts sweeping views across San Diego Bay towards Coronado, and will be complemented by a new open-air dining concept with flexible seating and a menu that celebrates San Diego’s vibrant food scene, slated to open in 2026.

“At the heart of our transformation is a full redesign of our meeting and event spaces, including the Harbor and Seaport Ballrooms, which serve as the centerpiece of our group offerings,” says Rick Mitrovich, Director of Events at Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego. “These ballrooms will feature a sophisticated seaside design and next-generation technology, and they’ll now connect directly to newly designed outdoor terraces with sweeping views of San Diego Bay. These terraces open up exciting possibilities for planners—whether it’s an al fresco reception, a wellness activation or a creative breakout session. We’ve reimagined our pre-function and breakout areas as well, with carpeting and lighting that subtly evoke the movement of ocean waves, creating an environment that’s both inspiring and functional.”

Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego offers more than 300,000 sf of event space, and completed renovations so far include the Coronado Ballroom Foyer and Terrace and Harbor Ballroom Foyer and Terrace. All guest rooms and suites in the Seaport Tower have been redesigned in collaboration with award-winning firm Parker Torres Design, and take inspiration from the luxury yachts dotting San Diego’s adjacent marina. With the first tower complete, the hotel will now turn its attention to the renovation of the 40-story Harbor Tower. The project will include all 1,628 guest rooms and suites, multiple dining venues including sky-high bar Top of the Hyatt, as well as continued enhancements to recreational areas throughout the property.

Renovated Spaces Deliver Options for Events

“Planners are always looking to surprise and delight—and our renovated spaces will give them incredible tools to do just that,” says Mitrovich. “We can host ocean-view dinners, exclusive poolside celebrations on our third-floor deck, complete with fire pits, handcrafted cocktails and live music, or coordinate luxury yacht excursions through the Manchester Maritime Club in partnership with Seaforth Boat Rentals—where guests can set sail on the bay with curated onboard picnics and bespoke food and beverage pairings. The new design is all about flexibility and personalization—we want to help planners create events that truly resonate with their guests.”

“We want groups to feel connected to San Diego’s culture the moment they arrive. From Baja-inspired flavors at the new Sally’s to locally sourced breakfasts at Seaview, we’re weaving the region’s culinary identity into every dining experience,” Mitrovich adds. “Beyond the hotel, our location puts guests just steps from the Gaslamp Quarter, home to some of San Diego’s best dining, nightlife and live entertainment; the USS Midway Museum, where visitors can explore a historic aircraft carrier featuring 26 restored aircrafts; the scenic waterfront, perfect for a morning jog or sunset stroll along the Embarcadero; and Petco Park, San Diego’s downtown stadium offering Padres games, concerts and sweeping views of the city skyline.”
