MPI will showcase WEC Vegas as a model for safe events.

Meeting Professionals International (MPI) has shared details of its Duty of Care plan for its WEC Vegas event taking place in June 2021.

The event is scheduled to take place Jun. 15-17, 2021 at CAESARS FORUM in Las Vegas, and will build on MPI’s Duty of Care experience in planning safe in-person events following the successful WEC Grapevine event held in 2020.

MPI intends to showcase WEC Vegas as a model for other events facing health-related challenges. It describes its Duty of Care plan as a living document that will continue to evolve to incorporate further innovative features that will further enhance a safe on-site experience for event attendees.

Key features of the Duty of Care plan include mailing name badges and lanyards to attendees ahead of arrival in order to limit on-site queuing. Cotton, reusable masks and personal-sized hand sanitizer will be provided by MPI, and hand sanitizer stations will be positioned throughout the meeting space. Onsite temperature checks will be performed each day ahead of attendees entering the event by InHouse Physicians, S.C., who have also developed the event’s COVID-19 Health Security Plan. Responsible F&B/seating/barriers for meeting spaces will be provided by CAESARS FORUM, as well as appropriate signage and floor decals to reinforce spatial distancing and other safety reminders.

Attendees of WEC Vegas will agree to abide by and engage in the health-and-safety-beneficial conduct outlined in the Duty of Care plan while attending the event, including submitting to daily temperature checks, wearing a mask at all times in public areas, engaging in appropriate physical distancing and not attending the event if they are ill or have recently been exposed to COVID-19.

CAESARS FORUM has also released its own health and safety protocols that provide details on how the venue will facilitate a safe and secure environment onsite for all attendees, both at the event itself and in the accommodations.
