Jody Brandes, CMM, CTSM, CMP-Fellow, HMCC has over 28 years of experience in the hospitality industry as both a planner and supplier. She is Associate Director, Internal Meetings & Strategy at Gilead Sciences, Inc managing a team of four meeting professionals. She has over 20 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical space including at Genentech, Novartis and Chiron Corporation. She is past president of Meeting Professionals International Northern California Chapter and is currently Director of Operations for the Society For Sustainable Events (SFSE). She earned the Sustainable Event Professional Certificate from EIC in 2022, was awarded Sustainability Champion from PCMA Northern California Chapter in 2021 and won the 2nd Annual Sustainability award from Pharma Forum in 2023.

Nancy J. Zavada, CMP Fellow, Founder and President, MeetGreen, is internationally recognized as a leader in the sustainable event field. She founded MeetGreen in 1994. Nancy’s extensive work with scientific and academic organizations earned her a strong reputation for producing impeccable meetings throughout the world. A decade later, Nancy co-founded the Green Meeting Industry Council to serve as a resource for hosting organizations.
Under the direction of Zavada, MeetGreen is a thriving agency well-known for innovative solutions allowing communities to gather responsibly. MeetGreen is a certified women-owned and ISO 20121-24 certified business focused on producing events to deliver targeted business results.
