Banyan Tree is rapidly expanding its portfolio of about 40 resorts and hotels this year, with eight properties scheduled to debut under the Banyan Tree name in this second half of 2018.

In addition to properties opening in Greece and Cuba by year’s end, here are six that have either opened or are opening throughout China and Malaysia.

Angsana Zhuhai Phoenix Bay

In early June, Angsana Zhuhai Phoenix Bay debuted with 202 rooms, suites and lofts in China’s Phoenix Bay, surrounded by mountains and beaches. As the first beach resort with panoramic sea views in the Guangdong province, the property is an idyllic retreat for groups looking to rejuvenate and explore the beautiful seaside city.

Banyan Tree Anji

Debuted just last week, Banyan Tree Anji takes groups to the mountains of eastern China. Located in Huzhou, the property features 151 rooms, suites and villas designed to incorporate some of the local mountain setting of Anji, famous for its bamboo forests and known as the home of white tea.

Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur

Banyan Tree opens its first hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, this month. The 55-room sky-suspended retreat at Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur was created to relax attendees, with each room designed to offer a true Sanctuary for the Senses. Groups can also catch a stunning, 360-degree view of the city skyline from the property’s Vertigo rooftop bar.

Dhawa Jinshanling

Opening next month at the foot of the legendary Jinshanling Great Wall near Beijing, Dhawa Jinshanling combines a contemporary look with China’s ancient cultural heritage. The property’s 200 rooms, creatively dubbed “Cocoons,” feature either mountain or garden views as well as the popular communal Nest space in which attendees can gather.

Pavilion Hotel Managed by Banyan Tree

Banyan Tree plans to open a second Kuala Lumpur location by year’s end. Situated above the six-story, award-winning Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, the 325-room Pavilion Hotel by Banyan Tree will be within walking distance of the city’s busy business, shopping and entertainment district. Meeting planners will appreciate the property’s six event spaces and elegant pillar-less ballroom. It will also feature three dining venues, including an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty Japanese restaurant and a whisky bar where attendees will be able to blend their own flavors.

Angsana Xishuangbanna

Lastly, Banyan Tree will debut the Angsana Xishuangbanna resort by year’s end. Located about an hour’s drive from China’s downtown Jinghong of Xishuangbanna, the resort will be close to the Horon Monbala Royal Southeast Asian Botanical Garden Resort Zone. The property’s biggest highlight: a hot spring center with 21 outdoor pools within five thematic zones, five spa pavilions and the Spring Forest, Angsana’s signature hydrothermal experience for attendees to rejuvenate.
