Hotel buyouts offer several advantages that can enhance the success of your client’s corporate event or retreat.
Not only do they gain exclusive control and access to the property’s facilities, but privacy is ensured and creating a more personalized experience is expected. For planners seeking buyout options or venues that transcend the ordinary, here are few properties to consider.
W Punta de Mita, Mexico
If you’re looking for a unique space for corporate events or group retreats, W Punta de Mita in Mexico offers a buyout option for its beachfront, private plunge pool suite collection, renovated rooms and the resort’s E-WOW suite penthouse.
With 20 private rooms, this buyout feels like your clients are reserving a boutique hotel within a larger luxury resort along Mexico’s waterfront.
Designed to offer exclusivity and privacy for any event, each suite features a private pool. At the same time, the E-WOW penthouse, complete with a full kitchen and expansive rooftop, provides the perfect setting for a private, rooftop group dinner with sunset and ocean views.
Groups staying for a minimum of three nights can take advantage of a range of exclusive incentives, including a private yoga class, a moonlit dinner with a two-hour open bar, one evening of DJ entertainment and daily breakfast for two adults per room at the resort’s Venazu restaurant.
In addition, guests will earn double Marriott Bonvoy points during their stay. The buyout also provides easy access to the resort’s newly renovated adults-only pool and beachfront.
To enhance the event experience, the resort offers tailored activities designed to immerse attendees in Punta de Mita’s vibrant culture—such as private surf lessons, ceviche-making classes, a “Sacred Cacao Ceremony” or a tequila tasting at the resort’s exclusive Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia hidden speakeasy.
Hotel Lilien, New York

Located near the Catskill Mountains and just a short drive from major metropolitan areas like New York, Boston and Washington D.C., this 18-room boutique property is a hidden gem for planners seeking a peaceful yet accessible destination for their client’s next event.

Furnished by the San Francisco-based design firm Field Theory, the original structure maintains the wood paneling, stained glass windows, and many of the trims, hardware and architecture built by the Manhattan-based Lilienthal family in the 1800s.
Hotel Lilien’s intimate spaces are perfectly suited for meetings and group gatherings. The onsite library offers seating for up to 15, providing a relaxed space for brainstorming sessions, while the stylish lounge accommodates 42, creating a cozy yet spacious setting for networking, socializing or breakout meetings.
