Dundas Castle in Scotland

Dundas Castle is one of Scotland’s most beautiful and historic castles, and one of the top five-star exclusive-use venues in Great Britain.

Unlike a hotel, the castle can be booked in its entirety for a wide variety of events, with no other guests and no distractions.

“Our venue is secluded in the peaceful countryside of its own 1,000-acre estate,” says Louise Andrew, general manager of Dundas Castle. “Even though attendees feel as though they are experiencing a rural Scottish retreat, they are only 25 minutes from Edinburgh City Centre and 15 minutes from Edinburgh International Airport.”

The castle can accommodate events from 10-180 attendees, and offers 17 distinct luxury guest rooms, perfect for an overnight stay or corporate retreat. The 600-year-old Stag Chamber provides a candlelit medieval dining experience for up to 25, the Georgian Croquet Room in the main house is perfect for an intimate executive dinner, and the Pavilion on the lawns can accommodate larger events. Because the castle is an exclusive-use venue, groups can make last-minute decisions on using rooms at no additional cost. Event coordinators are on hand to help create an itinerary of team building activities to relax or energize attendees, and programs can be customized to match requirements. Options can include Segway driving, quad biking, clay pigeon traps, highland dancing, bagpipe playing and military drumming.

“Delegates can enjoy a range of options such as our 4×4 off-road driving course, golf, falconry and bespoke events like ‘Highland Games’ or other team challenges,” says Andrew. “We also have the unique ‘Dundas Castle Explorer,’ a tablet-based treasure hunt that reveals fascinating facts and challenges within the grounds for up to 200 attendees. In the summer months, we offer glamping beside our loch, a great way to unwind over drinks, and a barbecue with the team.”
