The program, launched by visitBerlin last year, is helping to strengthen and diversify social and cultural institutions by promoting the use of their rooms for corporate workshops and events.

The social and cultural facilities and venues profit from value added rather than rent and attendees gain deeper connections to the destination. The Meet + Change format represents the expanding definition of sustainability in MICE and the travel industry overall, whose values are clearly evolving to include the preservation of societies, i.e., people, traditions and cultures.

Berlin has a history of being eco-savvy, from sustainable hotels and organic fare to eco-fashion hubs, a myriad of explorable lush green urban spaces that give back to communities and a plethora of programs that allow attendees to give back as well.
