The dramatic indoor waterfall at the Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton Hotel in Huntington Beach, Calif., will still highlight the property’s lobby space even after debuting a massive $140 million overhaul in the spring.

The major transformation will add a new nine-story, 152-room tower and meeting facility, which will connect to the current 285-room resort. Almost doubling the meeting space, the addition will feature an ocean-view rooftop lounge, pool deck and event lawn.

Existing public spaces are also undergoing a makeover. The lobby, pool and pool deck are all being refreshed, while a grab-and-go market will also be added. Meeting planners will especially appreciate the personal group check-in space. Once the new tower is completed, the existing tower will continue to be renovated.

The Hilton works in conjunction with the nearby Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa and the recently opened Pasea Hotel & Spa to offer large groups a complete meetings package overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Attendees can take advantage of the waterfront location with complimentary boogie board rentals and beach equipment. Meeting planners can also organize a private beach bonfire for an evening event complete with s’mores.

Through Waterfront Adventures, attendees can rent beach cruiser bicycles to ride up and down the coast. A quick five-minute ride will get them to the newly developed Pacific City, an outdoor shopping area with plenty of restaurants. A bit further north, attendees will be in downtown Huntington Beach, where they can visit the area’s famous International Surfing Museum, home to the largest surf board in the world.
