Hotel Key West at Stock Island Marina

Ten years in the making, the Hotel Key West at Stock Island Marina is set to open in the first quarter of 2017.

Ideal for small groups and incentive trips, the $38 million new-build property will be located in the Stock Island Marina Village complex and will include shops, restaurants and the largest deep water marina in the Florida Keys. The state-of-the-art 220-slip marina will be capable of accommodating vessels measuring up to 300-feet in length and offers easy access to the Atlantic Ocean.

The design of the property pays homage to Stock Island’s industrial heritage as a cattle herding ground, junkyard and shrimp boat rest stop. With architecture inspired by the working boatyards and saltwater fishing businesses of the island’s past, the 100-room hotel combines modern amenities with nostalgia for Florida Keys history.

“When our hotel guests venture into the Florida Keys sunshine, they’ll choose between hitting the open ocean and exploring the Safe Harbor area, which is home to galleries, local restaurants and bars, a community garden and more amenities still to come,” said Matt Strunk, developer of Stock Island Marina Village, in a press release.

Amenities will include an outdoor pool area with bar and grill overlooking the marina, and a full-service restaurant with patio seating and a “boat to table” menu featuring locally sourced and daily caught seafood and other farm-fresh regional ingredients. Eco-tours via paddleboard, kayak or boat will be available, as well as fishing and diving day trips and other excursions into the local culture of the Keys.

Every room at the property will offer a water view and open onto an over-sized private terrace. Suites will include soaking tubs and spacious balconies, and a selection of hammocks, lounge chairs and private cabanas overlooking the marina will be available.
